Plan processing time without gaps in your salon calendar
Colour services often combine active work and waiting time. Model both deliberately to see when a stylist is available without losing sight of the client.

Plan processing time as a separate part of the same service. Record the active start, expected wait, check and finish, and only add overlap when one stylist can perform that combination safely and calmly.
1. Split a service into real time blocks
A total duration does not show when the stylist is actively required. Write down which steps need attention and which contain waiting time.
Start with how the service actually runs today. A theoretically tight schedule that overruns every day does not help.

- rinsing, cutting, drying or finishing;
- clean-up or handover buffer.
2. Decide which overlap is workable
Processing time may create room for another task, but not every gap should automatically be bookable. Consider checks, overruns and the required workstation.

- is a chair, basin or colleague available?;
- what happens if one service runs ten minutes late?;

3. Improve using actual service times
Do not measure one unusually busy Saturday. Record where services consistently finish earlier or later across several ordinary weeks.
Only then adjust the default duration or buffer. Keep exceptional services separate so one complex case does not define the whole model.
